Starting March 15, 2023, the Chinese government has decided to modify its visa and entry policies to encourage more people-to-people exchanges between China and foreign countries. The adjustments include the following:
Reinstating the validity of multi-year multi-entry visas issued before March 28, 2020 by Chinese visa authorities abroad.
Allowing foreigners to apply for various visa types, including those for tourism, study, medical treatment, and others.
Resuming the issuance of port visas in compliance with the relevant laws and regulations.
Restarting the visa-exemption policy for Hainan, the visa-exemption cruise policy for Shanghai, the exemption policy for foreigners visiting Guangdong from Hong Kong and Macao, and the exemption policy for ASEAN tour groups to Guilin, Guangxi.
